Inner Yoga is a class designed to take you deeper into the true path of yoga. This class will teach more then just asana (postures). This class will guide you through the 8 limbs of yoga. Helping you connect your physical body to the deeper meaning and path of yoga. Yoga means to unite. To bring together the body, the mind and the soul. Each Inner Yoga class will offer up deeper practices to take you beyond the postures.

Remembering is about waking up to our truth. When we remember who we really are the rest falls into place. When we remember what we never want to repeat we sharpe our souls. Remember to live in peace. Remember to be kind to others. Remember to be your best version of yourself.

When we experience abuse or neglect what tends to happen is we learn unhealthy boundaries. Boundaries help us feel safe and give us a voice. We can have physical, emotional and mental boundaries and these help us separate who we are apart from others. This sense of self helps empowers our true nature and creates a safe space to say no or yes. When we learn to set up healthy boundaries we are setting ourselves and our youth up for a strong sense of agency.

Here are some ways you can set up healthy boundaries;

  1. Set limits: Know where your limits are
  2. Tune into your feelings: Know that discomfort and resentment are 2 red flags and that you boundaries are being pushed
  3. Be direct: Ask and say what you need. Do not expect the other person to know what you need.
  4. Give yourself permission: Feeling bad for saying no is ok. Give yourself permission to feel that. Once you have clear boundaries this will pass.
  5. Practice self awareness: When you notice yourself slipping away from your healthy boundaries…ask yourself what changed? what can you change or control?

Parenting is not an easy task these days. There is so much pressure on families. Both parents working, sports and extra curricular, homework, meal planning, grocery shopping, housework and the list can go on. How can we parent with purpose and presence? How can we be there for our youth to hear their needs and help them develop strategies and tools to grow into connected loving adults. I have asked myself this question many times and here are some of the answers that I get.

Our role as parents is to support nature in growing our children by providing them with certain forms of nourishment just like we would a seed in a garden. To provide this nourishment so that our children become self-disciplined there are 5 essential ingredients we need.

5 Essential Ingredients for Mindful Discipline;

  1. Unconditional love
  2. Space to make missed..takes
  3. Mentorship ( They learn what they see)
  4. Healthy Boundaries
  5. Mistakes Or like I like to say Missed Takes…..

Many of you have been asking what I drink every day. Here is my green smoothie recipe;

1.5 cups of Organic Frozen Strawberries

1.5 cups of coconut water

2 cups of spinach

1 banana

2 tbsp of hemp seeds

2 teaspoon of Spirulina (blue green algae) This give the green color!

Put all ingredients in a blender and blend unit smooth. Drink right away. This smoothie does not last. It is meant to drink within a few hours.

This month we take a deep dive and look at clearing our vision.

What is Clarity?

Clarity is the ability to see through and have a unblocked view of what is. When the picture is clear we can see all sides and all details with our truth. Mental clarity helps our mind open to all the endless possibles that exists.

Here are 3 ways you can find more clarity in your yoga practice;
1) Set a clear intention each practice; remember an intention is the energy not the result
2) Practice the 8 limbs of yoga not just postures
3) Find time each day to cultivate a meditation practice
