Day 1

My first day in Costa Rica has filled me with joy and compassion. I arrived and am staying with Brenna and her Partner Jorge and daughter Tashi, his mom, dad, brother and brothers wife. They all live in a small community outside of San Jose. They practice Tibetan Buddhism and Oscar, Jorge’s dad has been given the transmissions to teach these practices.

We started our day with a aloe vera drink to help our gut clean its lining then a few hours after we had a beautiful breakfast of fresh fruit, beans rice, avocado and home made tortillas. Then we went to walk abound the community connecting with the horses and nature. After that we had a asana practice in the dojo and then went to a community restaurant for supper. I had a papaya and water smoothie and rice, beans, avocado and chips. When we returned from dinner I was welcomed into and taught a ancient Tibetan practice called saloon. This practice helps you release the 3 poisons as they are known in Tibetan Buddhism. The 3 poisons are Anger, Attachment and Ignorance.

This month our off mat theme focuses on all aspects of love. There are 4 categories on love we are going to explore.

Self Love: Love we cultivate and curate for our self, body, mind and soul.

Partner Love: Love we share with an intimate partner. In this love we explore intimacy, attraction and connections that bring us closer together.

Friendship Love: This is the love we share with our kins and in our relationships.

Family Love: This is where we learned about love. How to give it and how to receive it. Love for family is a deeply intimate love that explores all aspects of the previous 3 types of love.

In our off mat exploration we will have the opportunity to explore where and what we have learned about love and opportunities to explore areas where we can cultivate more love in our life. In general, the more we love ourselves the more love we bring into our life. Love if given in abundance we can receive it in abundance.

When we cultivate more pure love we are working with the highest energy vibration. 528hz. This is a deeply healing vibration and can be used to heal ourselves as well as others. In the worksheet we will bring you into your relationship with love to help you deepen your connection to this healing energy.

Pura Vida: This means living your best life or simple life. I can see why this is the Costa Ricans main phrase. The country has designated blue zones. These blue zones are areas where people are living longer then ever before. They work, they move, they nourish. It seems that the earth provides for these people. Their government abolished their army to put more money into health care and education. So many things we can learn from this beautiful country and I am grateful to take in its teachings.
