Mindful Discipline

Parenting is not an easy task these days. There is so much pressure on families. Both parents working, sports and extra curricular, homework, meal planning, grocery shopping, housework and the list can go on. How can we parent with purpose and presence? How can we be there for our youth to hear their needs and help them develop strategies and tools to grow into connected loving adults. I have asked myself this question many times and here are some of the answers that I get.

Our role as parents is to support nature in growing our children by providing them with certain forms of nourishment just like we would a seed in a garden. To provide this nourishment so that our children become self-disciplined there are 5 essential ingredients we need.

5 Essential Ingredients for Mindful Discipline;

  1. Unconditional love
  2. Space to make missed..takes
  3. Mentorship ( They learn what they see)
  4. Healthy Boundaries
  5. Mistakes Or like I like to say Missed Takes…..
